How to Repurpose Website Content for Social Media in 2026

One of the biggest hacks service providers miss is repurposing their website for social media content.
Let me show you how to do this in a quick and easy way! Here are just a few things we’ll cover in the post below:

  • Your blog posts and service pages are full of potential.

  • In 2026, people consume content quickly (usually on social media).

  • Repurposing saves time, keeps you consistent, and builds trust with your audience.

Now let’s turn your best website content into scroll-stopping social posts (without starting from scratch every time).

Why Repurposing Website Content Matters (Especially in 2026)

You’ve most likely put a lot of thought and money into your website, writing content (or hiring a copywriter) that highlights your offers and values well and takes your clients on a journey.

That’s incredible! A strategic website means you’re going to stand out online and appeal to your audience.

But here’s what a lot of people overlook: your website content could be missing out on the reach it deserves…

I’m a social media manager and I’ve noticed that clients are finding service providers through short videos, Instagram carousels, and LinkedIn posts just as often as they are through Google.

And I think that’s only going to increase in 2026.

By repurposing your website content, you meet people where they are, without having to create content 24/7 (cue the applause and sighs of relief!).

It also supports visibility across both Google and AI search tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity. The more clearly and consistently you share your ideas across platforms, the more likely you are to be included in AI-generated answers or snippet boxes.

That’s the future of content marketing!

Is It Really Repurposing or Just Repeating?

Good repurposing shouldn't feel recycled. It’s tailored to the platform by adapting your message. Maybe you shorten it or make it more conversational. Maybe you turn it into a reel or carousel.

It’s all about making your content more accessible. You’re giving people options for how they learn, connect, and remember your brand.

Where to Start: Your Website Is Full of Repurposing Potential

Here’s what I mean when I say your website is full of “repurposing potential.” We start with what you already have:

  • A blog post with tips → Break it into a carousel or LinkedIn post.

  • Your services page → Turn each section into a short video or behind-the-scenes series.

  • A frequently asked question on your home page → Record yourself answering it in under a minute and post it to TikTok.

  • An about page story → Create a quote graphic or share a picture with the story in the caption.

Each of these ideas can be pulled directly from your existing website, which means you don’t have to brainstorm new ideas every single week.

You’ve already said it once, now let’s let it live again (and again) on the platforms where your audience hangs out.

But What Does This Actually Look Like? (Here’s an Example)

Let’s say you wrote a blog post last year called “5 Signs Your Brand Messaging Isn’t Working.” Here are 5 ways you could repurpose it:

  1. Take the headline and put it into a short reel where you talk about one of the five signs.

  2. Turn each of the five points into a carousel post with examples or visuals.

  3. Record a voiceover video where you read the intro and add a personal anecdote.

  4. Share a quote or stat from the post in a branded graphic.

  5. Use the post as an outline for an email newsletter.

Each piece looks and feels native to the platform you’re posting on, but all of them originated from just one piece of writing.

What Makes Content Repurposing Work in 2026

Repurposing isn't new, but the way people consume content now has shifted. Short-form content is super popular right now, and audiences are busier and pickier about what they consume.

AI tools are also scanning your content to see if it’s clear and if answers questions people are searching for.

To keep your content relevant:

  • Think “bite-sized.” Most people (except in certain situations!) don’t want to read a caption that’s 1,000 words.

  • Show your face and voice where you can.

  • Adapt for each platform (don’t just repost screenshots of your blog. Yikes!).

  • Link back to the original piece when relevant to build traffic and SEO signals.

And maybe most important of all: stay consistent. Repurposing helps you keep showing up even when life gets busy, launches are happening, or the creative juices are running on empty.

What’s Changed in 2026 That Makes Repurposing So Powerful

Search engines are evolving, and I’ve had dozens of conversations with other business owners about these changes just in the past couple months.

More and more, people are typing full questions into AI tools like ChatGPT instead of just searching for keywords on Google. That means well-written and well-structured, frequently referenced content is more valuable than ever.

When your website content is shared on different platforms, (which reaches new audiences), it’s more likely to be shown to users.

It’s not just about SEO anymore. It’s about GEO: generative engine optimization. And repurposing helps you win there.

Easy ChatGPT Prompts to Repurpose Your Website Content

ChatGPT is actually amazing at helping you repurpose what you’ve already created. The key is knowing what to ask and being specific.

Here are 3 ChatGPT prompts you can steal to repurpose your website content into short-form posts!

Prompt 1: Turn a Blog Post Into Strategic Instagram Content

Use this when you want captions that educate, build trust, and sound like you.

“Pretend you are a social media strategist for [type of business, e.g. creative entrepreneurs, service providers, photographers].

Here is a blog post from my website:
[paste blog post]

Create 5 Instagram captions based on this content.

Guidelines:

  • Each caption should focus on ONE idea from the post

  • Write in a conversational, friendly tone

  • Use plain language, no buzzwords

  • End each caption with a soft CTA (save, share, comment, or click the link in bio)

  • Do not use emojis excessively

My audience is [describe your audience].
My brand voice is [describe tone: warm, professional, approachable, direct].”

Prompt 2: Turn a Service Page Into Carousel Post Copy

This works great for designers, coaches, and service providers.

“Pretend you are a social media strategist helping a service-based business repurpose website content.

Here is a section from my services page:
[paste service page content]

Create copy for a 6-slide Instagram carousel.

Slide guidelines:

  • Slide 1: Clear, curiosity-driven headline that makes people want to stop scrolling

  • Slides 2–5: One key idea per slide, written in a conversational way

  • Slide 6: CTA that invites the reader to learn more. Write it in a way they want to comment below.

Write short, skimmable sentences.
Repeat website copy as closely as possible, but tailor it to Instagram where relevant.”

Prompt 3: Turn an FAQ or Website Question Into Scroll-Stopping Content

This is great for homepage FAQs or common client questions.

“Here’s a frequently asked question from my website:
[paste FAQ or question]

Turn this into:

  • One Instagram caption with a strong and engaging hook

  • One short video talking point

Write it so it feels helpful and reassuring, not sales-focused.
The goal is to build trust, not pitch.”

The more direction you give ChatGPT, the better your results will be. Always include:

  • Your audience

  • The platform

  • The goal of the post

  • Your tone
